Fernando Alonso
Legendary two-time Formula 1 Drivers' World Champion Fernando Alonso returns to the Formula 1 grid and the Alpine F1 Team in 2021, twenty years after his debut in the sport. Fernando is one of the most experienced and successful drivers in Formula 1 history, with 311 starts and 32 race wins.
The Spanish driver is synonymous with the team's history in Formula 1. During two previous stints with the Renault F1 Team from 2002-2006 and again between 2008 and 2009, he claimed 17 wins, 41 podiums and two Formula 1 Drivers' World Championships, making him the most successful driver in the team's history. In his Formula 1 career to date, Fernando has always been a hot contender in the drivers' championship, vying for the title in 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2013.
Fernando Alonso also won the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans twice and tried to win the Indianapolis 500. Demonstrating dexterity, Fernando also participated in the fearsome resistance challenge, the Dakar Rally.
For this year, Fernando is back in Formula 1 with more hunger than ever to get the Alpine F1 Team back to the front of the grid.
Esteban Ocon
Esteban Ocon begins his second season with the team ahead of the 2021 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season. Esteban returned to Formula 1 in 2020 after a year off the grid in 2019. This season will be Esteban's fourth season in Formula 1, 2020 having been a promising year which included a sensational first podium at the Sakhir Grand Prix . Esteban is well known to the Enstone-Viry family having spent the 2016 season as the team's reserve driver, and before that he was part of Lotus' junior program, during which he won the FIA Formula 3 European title in 2014. year later Esteban won the GP3 Series crown.
The 24-year-old has raced in 67 Grands Prix and collected 198 points in that time since making his Formula 1 debut as a teenager at the Belgian Grand Prix in 2016. His best qualifying performance to date remains a third place in Belgium in 2018, while his best race result was his second place in Sakhir last December.
